Frogspawn losing tentacles while splitting?

Title says it all. One of my heads of frogspawn looks like it's splitting but one side of it has shrunken tentacles and this morning I found a small piece on the substrate.

Is this normal behavior? Picture attached.

From the pics it looks like that one bunch is about to come off also, besides that it looks ok, maybe something nibbled on it?

This is probably the second time I've seen a tentacle come off since I got it but it's a fairly large colony so I thought something like this every now and then might be normal.

I don't THINK anything is nibbling at it. I have two small clowns still getting used to the tank that don't even give it a second look and a purple-spotted mantis shrimp living in a rock near the frogspawn colony but she's pretty spoiled and only really comes out when I tease her out with food.
