Im tagging along...would also like to know. No corals yet, just starting out Now i need to find a place to buy cyclo and mysis...Same goes for most corals I guess? And torches?
you can target feed them if you want......but they usually catch the mysis or brine or whatever you are feeding your fish...I have had 4 of them for about 3 years and have never target fed any of them...you can if you would like or if they are small enough you might want to do so...but other than that...just good water should do the trick
I keep mentioning all this on all the posts of feeding lps's, but that gel sealed O.N food by formula one is the best. Accepted by all my corals right away, they eat it very quickly and don't spit it out. And it stick to their tentacles like glue, if I were to try and rip it off, I would damage the tentacles in the process.
Plus, this food has so many different ingredients so thats good for the coral.
And also, since I have been feeding my frogspawn every 2-7 days, its gone from 4 heads, to 7!!! And it can be fed to fish, inverts and other corals.
Heres some pics of them eating the stuff.
And my anemone and yellow polyps also accept this stuff.
Thanks! I never took pride in my corals that much.
I just get this from my lfs, but its only available in 4 out of 6 of them, but thats here in maryland. But it can be ordered off line. Its a frozen food. but I feed at night if your doing it with frogspawn, because mine won't accept it during the day when its mouths are closed, unless for some reason their mouths are open.
Its actually meant to be a fish food, but contains ingrediants that corals readily accept, thats why it stick so well to them. Some of my fish actually don't like it that much, but the gluttons of the tank will eat it like my Midas and clowns.
SD guy did it with Sun corals. Look at the color difference with his two pics, they got darker! He also mentioned that they were getting new heads after 30 days. Really good stuff.
well thanks for the replies guys
i think ill try the formula one frozen food
ive got it to eat frozen mysis and frozen brine so far but i think the nutritional value of formula one is much better so i probally will switch to that
cfw1199 - thanks ive had my crocea for about 8-9months and its doing very good
