Frogspawn question from a newbie

I have had a two headed frogspawn for about a month in my 24G AP and it seems to be doing well and my hope is that one day my Maroon Clown will host it instead of the locline spraybar it currently is in love with. My question is how do they reproduce/split? Will a new mouth appear on one of the existing heads or will a new head start growing out of the stalk?

Both actually. New baby heads will begin to grow out of the stalk (these take a long time to grow full size though.) The heads also split. IME they grow a new mouth and then start to split from the middle of the 2 mouths. HTH

Some people get great growth, and some just have healthy specimens.

I got a frogspawn with 2 mouths on one head about 6 months ago, and it just recently became two completely separate heads. It is always open and very happy, and I feed it well too. It just depends on the individual specimen some times. Some people's heads divide every 2 months...

Thanks guys! I have it high in my tank since I only have the stock AP PCs and I feed it about once a week. Here's a picture of it! Hopefully it will be happy enough to grow new heads. If I get another how far away would I need to put it?

I noticed this morning that one of the mouths is getting really wide and am hoping that may be the start of it splitting!

I have read that you can place Euphyllia corals (Frogspawns, Hammers, and Torches) close together, even touching, but now I can't find the source of that.
