Frogspawn something growing on it

I found one of my heads on my frogspawn has a cluster of white stringy looking things on it don't know what it is. I took a pic of it but it won't come out clear or i would of posted it. But can someone lead in the direction to help me fix this problem from spreading or something just really need the help i don't want to lose this to an infestation i love this coral. Please someone help me out.

A pic of any quality will be better than none. Their are so many possibilities, it will be less helpful if people starting throwing random things out there than if you post a bad pic.

Is it the bubbles you are seeing on the skeleton? Is it only on the frogspawn or is it other areas in the tank?

just the frogspawn i seen it on...and i seen it in some of the bubbled tentacles.

Calcium seems pretty high from your testing along with the salinity being low for a reef tank. If you are dosing a calcium supplement I'd stop and let the Ca drop to around 450. I would also slowly raise the salinity in your tank to 1.025-1.026 or 35 ppt. The phosphate is high for a reef tank too. Ideally it should be <0.03ppm (it's a struggle for me too ). It could be the start of dinoflagellates considering you are seeing some bubbles around a stringy type of algae-like growth. But, I would presume it would be other areas of your tank if that was the case. I would sort out some of the water params and see what happens.


Is your pH low? What is it testing currently?

From the blurry pic it kinda looks like a white featherduster/tube worm.

Looks like the small calcified tube travelling up towards the soft tissue and then you have the "feathers" which would be the white stringy things.

if u look inside the bublle tentacal u can c the wht stringy thing inside it. there was a cluster of this stuff.

OK diablo30xp, after evaluating it a bit more I think I have an answer for you. I zoomed in on the pic quite a bit and I'm seeing what you are now. I think it may be Vermetid Snails. They are interesting creatures that live in calcified tubes that shoot out a membrane-like web when feeding. I've have had tons of them in my tank. I've never seen them bother corals unless they are in great number. You can try and pick off the tube with your finger if you want or if it's causing the frogspawn to retract it's polyps, your call. Still doesn't explain the bubbles. Can you put the frog up on some rock to give it more flow?

looks like a tube worm. Vermeted will put out long webs and slowly retract them back. Either way both are harmless
