I fairly new frogspawn I have put in my tank has suddenly shriveled up and it's connective tissue is receding.
I have had it for 3 weeks, and it has done very well until this morning. I also noticed a few Zoas staying closed while I was observing this.
One very strange thing I noticed on the very tips of the frogspawn was little black spots, as if it had been burnt.
Now, things that have changed. I have added a clam in the last few days, and I put 6 cement plugs in an eggcreat shelf. Besides this, nothing has changed.
Water is good, all readings are within normal, but I do have a rather high CA. It is over 500, but has been this way the entire time the frogspawn has been in the tank.
I have only tried to do one thing so far, and that was take out a pump, and added a electricity grounder. There were some micro bubbles coming from this pump that I did not really like seeing, and because everything was looking good, I decided to add the electricity grounder just incase.
So, anyone have an idea about the burnt ends? I honestly don't even know if that is normal, but I do not recall them before.
