Sucks to hear this sad story but I'd be willing to help pathe the road to recovery also. LMK.

That's awful! I am so sorry.
If you need a break, do.
Good Luck with whatever you decide (really it can't get any worse, right?!)

Bummer of a loss! But a rebuild can be fun!

Why r u buying water when ur tank is so large?
If you have a ro/di filter, buy a few Brute trashcans and mix some "just in case" water.
Whenever I complete a water change, I fill my "cans" w/ filtered water so I'm ready to mix.

UPDATE

UPDATE

so it has been 3 days since I awoke to 12 dead fish. As I mentioned, I did 2 complete water changes back to back the first morning and I have let the tank sit since then.

this morning the tank smelled again and it was time to remove more dead/dying corals, but at least I think all the dead stuff is gone. It was really sad tearing my 10" purple & green cap (now white) off and throwing it away; it was my wifes favorie piece.

The water has been relatively clear for the last 48 hours, and here is what I have living: 3-5 types zoa's in various sizes, 7-8 heads of frogspawn, a few hermit crabs, 1-2 snails, 3 Monti's, incl. super man, but not sur eif they are going to make it, 3 noen green leathers, some ricordia's and that is about it.

As one of you mentioned, I am cautiously excited about re-doing some aspects of the tank and about growing it back to where it was. I definately miss my beautiful fish and corals, but I intend on staying in the hobby and replacing most everything.

Shortly I will take those of you who offered up on some frags, especially the Cali Tort offered by Five Five Six.

Thank again for the support and encouragement.

Waldomas, yes I make my own water, but i only keep 30-50 gal at a time and did not have time to make 200 gal. I do not have room for 3-4 55 gal drums. Normally I do not need that much, so it has been fine in the past.
