from beautiful to ruined in 24 hours...this is one frustrating hobby!

Sorry about your lost. Luckily the cube did not break or crack when it fell off of your truck

You should find out why or design your tank so that when the overflow stops your livestock and corals should survive at least 24 hours. A power outage is bound to happen anywhere. My powerheads are on a UPC backup.

Very disheartening story and I will definitely learn from your mistakes, thanks for posting. When you’re ready, I’ll donate a few frags also.

Omg! That series of events sounds like the things I end up doing... Making silly mistakes when I'm trying to deal with a problem. Been there! Sorry this happened to you.

Thanks for the support and offers of assistance. I still can't believe the comedy of errors that brought me to where I am today. And yes, if the water tank would have busted, it would have REALLY compounded my misery.

Good news is I did get some sleep last night, although I had it spinnig through my brain all night. I am more calm about the situation now, the kind words and empathy have helped.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I think everyone makes a mistake..i've been there done that. Good luck with getting back into it!

Sorry to hear that! same happened here all my corals died because of one stuped fuse on my chiller and my water temp. was up ti 92 for one day that sucks!

This sucks but let this be a lesson to everyone (especially newbies)

Sometimes the best course of action is NO or LITTLE action.

Should he have done a 25-40% water change and ran some carbon he may not be in the situation he ended up in. :(

That hurt to read. I'm really sorry for the events that took place. Hang in there, it's only a hobby, only money. (try to stay positive, and look at the bright side, there are far greater tradgedies going on in the world!) I know, tough to swallow all that, but it could be worse. You'll get through it.

sorry to hear what happened and I'm glad I'm out of the hobby. I know how tired getting water and such...
