Hey everyone. Yes, i'm still a member. No i'm not dead. No, the aquapod is still not done. Yes, i'm still married. And yes, i'll be at the January meeting.
I trust everyone had a good holiday and made it caught a ride on the beer scooter after new years.
The St Jude tanks have been taking up a lot of my time lately. I'm getting the second tank up and running and need to get some more people on board. Anyone who has been cleared to volunteer at St Jude please let me know so I can work out schedules. I'll also need to plan a Saturday or Sunday when I can have a group meet me at St Jude for some tank Overhauls. Basically, its just organization and working on maximizing space by hanging up equipment and the like. Richard is suposed to be updating the website with the updates I've sent him so our newest sponsors can get recognition for their donations.
The new "Megatank" or as I would like to call it Megatankzillaosaurus. Scott of Aquatic Acrylics John Curran of the St Jude Design team and myself have been working on making the new tank a reality. The overall design and concept has taken a few new facade's but its coming along. More to come with that.
I still have contact info for a couple of teachers that were interested in having some small aquaria in the classrooms. One such contact I lost her card. I found it the other day while going through my pile, which when clean actually hides a nice desk. I asked for volunteers for getting this off the ground a while back and still have the PM's of those that were interested. I'll be forwarding that information to those that are still interested.
I believe that is all I have for now.
On a personal note, something is wrong with my tank and I'm at a loss as to what it is and what is causing it. I'll post this on another thread.
Thanks everyone.

I am meeting with Burke Carroll of the Olive Branch High School this Thursday morning about their tank. He is a biology teacher at the school, and has a 55 gallon tank and has just been donated a 110 gallon for the classroom. Our meeting will consist of a tank evaluation. See what they already have, what they need, and get an idea of the direction they wish to go with the tank. He said the kids are in advanced biology and are extremely interested in their tank project. Once I get an idea of their needs, I will be asking for donations of equipment and livestock for the tanks. This one is easy for me because I live just down the street from the school.

Barrett - Whatever weekend you need help on the St. Jude tanks, just let me know...I will be there. (except for the 20th of Jan...frag swap)

I plan on going for my physical the day after the frag swap and should have total clearance after that. I am in Memphis most weekends and can help. However, will be at the Frag Swap the 20th.

I have talked to the nursing coordinater and she's going to make the application process a LOT easier on us. She's mentioned doing the TB skin tests at a meeting and some other hurdles that we hit.

Tell John Curn I said hello and I will be getting in touch with the volunteer people to get cleared to help.

Carlos
