Frostbite clowns!

Agreed FTDelta. The B&W are pretty cool. But these morphs are nothing more than defects and most are quite ugly.

I think you might need to revisit what these fish are, and some basics in clownfish breeding.

A defect would mean an aberrant gene that is switched on which causes a mutation. Defect would imply genetic abnormalities. These fish, and all "designer" clowns, are not defects as the genes exist naturally in the genetic code and are brought out through selective line breeding. If you read the article, Matt goes through an interesting discussion on genetics, thereby showing this is very much not a defect. A labradoodle is not a defect, but the result of mixing two differing genetic codes - Lab and poodle. Ugly? Attractive? That is in the eye of the beholder, but defect it is not.

If you do not believe they are attractive, that is a personal opinion that you are entitled to. To call them defects is, actually, quite incorrect.

Additionally, I know it was very briefly mentioned in the article, but Mitch with Booyah's Reef has been breeding and selling this same color morph (snowflake with black spots in the white bars) as a "Booyah's Buckshot" for over a year and a half. While I cannot be certain as to the exact genetics, the resulting appearance of fish is spot on (pun intended :) ) So while some may argue about the appearance and appeal of said fish, the unargueable truth of this being a brand new color morph is, in fact, false.

I read a post online that the "Buckshot" from Mitch was the offspring of a Female Ocellaris and a Male Snowflake.
The Frostbite is said to be the offspring of a Wyoming White and a Snowflake, so I guess that makes the babies a little bit different.
I personally like both of them. I would like to get one of each of them and breed them to make some Buckshot Frostbite clowns :)

Good lord enough with the morphs/cross breeding already. I don't find them all that attractive. I rather have clownfish as nature created them. However, I do love the B&W clownfish though.

Umm....the B&W is not a morph or crossbreed. It's called a Darwin and exists in the wild. In fact, there are several "Designers" that have been found in the wild such as the Picasso, Snowflake and others.

Even the Wyoming White was in fact from two very normal Ocellaris clowns that just happened to produce a white clown.

Think of them as any other pet, if you have a cat or dog then you too have a designer pet unless you have a purebred wolf, coyote or a lynx. Yet for some reason people love to argue about designer fish. Go figure.

If people don't like them fine, but know that those who do like them really don't care about anyone elses opinion of how ugly they are.
