Frozen freshwater food in reef tank?

Just curious,

I have a package of frozen food cubes that are clearly for freshwater. Has anybody tried to use frozen freshwater food in your saltwater tank? Just curious before I throw this out.

what are they made of? I doubt they would do any harm but would probably be lacking nutritionally but you could always enrich.

If its older than a few months its probably useless anyways..
But it can certainly be used if "new/nutritional,etc.."

frozen foods don't go bad or lose nutrition due to age. If by useless you mean the fish wont eat because it's not as tasty? That is possible. It loses flavor and texture, but nutrients remain the same.

Look at the back, see what's in it. chances are, it's fine for saltwater fish too. Like one I found is just salmon.. no problem that I can think of with feeding your fish salmon... another has peas, spirulina, seaweed, garlic, meal worms.. not the best, but still provides a variety..
