My tank temp was a little higher than I like do to 100degree temps but I just did a water change and I never heated the water but it rised my tank 2 degrees so my fans aw going nuts. Can I float a frozen 20 oz pop bottle in my sump without it affecting my water quality? Thank you for any help!!!!

Sure Can . Back when we lived in a apt and had a small sump under the tank we would do that. Now the sump is in the basement with a huge water volume down there where its cool . the mh lights do not effect the water hardly ever.

If you have the room for it you can get a $15 turbo fan from Target and mount it above your sump to turn on whenever you need it. It will cool it down pretty quickly.

Using a frozen pop or water bottle should be fine but I would rinse it off before it went in my tank or sump.
Its been 110 for a week here. I keep my AC at 80 and have a sump fan.
If the tank temp ever gets above 81 I just pop one of those blue 'ice packs' in the sump. Inside a plastic bag for safety of course.
