I jst got this kit delivered Tues. Now I may need to sell due to getting a new tank. Details listed below I went with the Pheonix 14k and the TRU t5's plus wiring kit for a total cost of $304.40 I got this on a group buy with 15% discount which was $30 and had to spend $20 for shipping so I have right at $300 in this setup. I will let go for $275. If anyone is in the market for 36" lighting.

* Caution: This retrofit/ballast kit must be housed in an area free of moisture, behind glass. Make sure the bulb(s) and socket(s) are sealed off from any moisture, humidity or evaporation when mounted over your aquarium. Mount ballast(s) away from moisture, humidity or evaporation. Failure to do so will void any and all warranty, and could be a potential hazard.
* Optional: You can now include 33 feet of 18 Gauge stranded copper wire with your order. This will allow you to extend the wires off your ballast, and make installation easier. This would allow you to place the ballast outside of your canopy, in a remote location. You will also get 4 additional regular wire nuts with this option.


T5 fluorescent technology is the leading way in efficiency. Combine the reflective efficiency of the parabolic reflectors and the energy efficiency of the T5 lamps and you have an extremely powerful combination. Another very strong point is their life span. Some manufacturers say T5 lamps can last as long as 24 months.
