I bought this about 2 years ago. The pump had a bad impaller wich was a symptom of the original bubble blaster pumps. Coralvue sent me a new pump which I used for about 3 months before I sold my jbj cube. I have black acrylic and can build a black box around the intake if anyone is interested in using it on a normal tank.
