Yeah i used this skimmer on a 180g and it constantly produced a thick green/black skimmate.

Will it sit in the bottom of a sump? Or can it be configured to without modifying its design?

Tony did you mod the outlet tube?

It's not in my pic but i took off the flexi one that it came w/ and added 1" pvc and a 90d elbow.make sure you drill a 1/4" hole @ the top of the elbow to release traped air.I found you get less micro bubbles w/ this minor mod.

no i am running mine stock lol. I get a few micro bubbles but my lion plays with them and chases the lol.But i have herd that mod works really well!!!

They are great skimmers after being modded I have a gen-x 2700 w/ mesh mod as pump, 1/2" venturi and a gate valve on my 22gal nano.THE MODS ARE A MUST IMO.
