fs: fresh setup

hope it's ok to post this here. :D

equipment:

40b set up as a freshwater tank. drilled 3/4" drain in right bottom corner with strainer and 3/4" return in left bottom corner with locline (see pics.) there are a couple scratches on the left panel, due a mishap with a magfloat. the scratches are visable but i don't look at my tanks through the side panels so it never bothered me. a la carte: $45 (a la carte price includes bulkheads, locline and all plumbing except hoses.

stand - black, single front door, semi open back. it's for a 20L and i screwed a piece of plywood to the top to fit this tank. a la carte: $20

sunsun 4 stage canister filter with uv bulb (probably needs replacing, although i hardly run it.) a la carte: $25

beamworks 36"-40" led light. i have modified this to have the blue and whites on separate plugs. this is a cheap, somewhat dim light that i wouldn't trust to use on a salt tank. works fine on this fresh setup, however. a la carte: $10

hydor in-line heater. i believe this is the 200w 1/2" version. i honestly don't remember. a la carte: $25

livestock:

1 - shubunkin goldfish approx. 4" a la carte: $2
1 - feeder goldfish approx. 2" a la carte: free
3 - zebra danios approx. 1.5" a la carte: $1ea
1 - raphael catfish approx. 5" a la carte: $4
6(?) - adult/sub adult green swordtail approx. 2.5" sizes vary and i have male and female. a la carte: $2ea
8(?) - baby green swordtail approx. .5" a la carte: $1ea
(yes, the swordtails breed easily and rapidly. never called aa to see what the trade-in value is.)

tons of amazon sword plant. this stuff really took off. a la carte: $3 for a bundle

selling entire setup for $150 and that will include a lot of super cool black lava rock. most of it is hidden by the amazon sword so it's hard to see in the pics. it will also include the black and white fine sand.

obviously livestock needs to go before the equipment.

fyi - the only water changes i do are through top off water and i clean out the filter media maybe a couple times a year. in fact, it could probably use new media by now. despite this unconventional method of husbandry (or lack of), my tank appears healthy as the fish are breeding and the plants are flourishing.
