FS/FT Green Slimer

Last night, around 11pm, I decided to make some changes to the reef, including busting up my monster of a green slimer. It came to me on a tiny piece of rock and over the past 1.5 years has grown tremendously. It was at the point that it would topple over every few days because of its size! Its a nice problem to have.

I forgot to take a picture before starting to process, but here it is from my phone when I got it out of the tank (all actinics on):

Seconds after taking the picture parts gave way, creating insta-frags! :eek1: An hour later, the biggest parts were re-attached with putty and glue to much more stable rocks.

So now for the FS/FT part of the post. :D

I have 7 frags available. The smallest is about 3" and the biggest is closer to 7" with multiple branches. All are looking good as of this morning.

Camera phone pic with lights on for about 2 mins.

All frags have good PE and looking nice- no more slime!

In return I am looking for the following:

- If you are a new SLASH member or new to SPS/slimers, then they are free. Come and take one, have a blast.

- Trade for PC lights (square pin, 65 watt) for my grow out tank. Lights need to have at least a few months of use on them.

- Donation to the PC light fund (say $20 for a big piece, $15 for a smaller one).

These frags are available to pickup on Saturday April 26th until 4:30pm only. Sorry for the short time frame, but life gets in the way of reefkeeping some times. On Sunday, these are going to the LFS.

Big one to Steve.
6 Left. :) All are attached to frag plugs from the filterguys.biz.

Please PM me for phone number and address.
Sorry for the link pics- I just take what Flickr gives me.

Arrghhhh- Timing is such a b!t$h.
Oh well... last I checked the Earth was still turning at the same speed. :D

I am more than happy to "give" them away as part of the donor program- that way, when my tank crashes, there will be a back up plan!

That is a very good plan, I'd ask for pm's of those who get them so you can keep track. I for one can't place anything into my tank. As I no longer have a RR SW tank, I now have a Grape & fern tank with a few fish that are fighting to swim through the thickit of wonderfully green matted fern/Grape wishing it was seaweed of a tank of mine. Now I see why I'm refered to as Stupid.......I bought a 225g RR tank only to fill it full of weeds

I'm just glad to see that you were helping others, thats what were about and it's nice to see it happening. Thank you. :)

ill take one i know i have some pc bulbs at home ill have to look but either way i am new to sps/slimers... ill look when i get home today and tell you what kind of bulbs i got i know i got some 65 watters but im not sure if they are actinic or 10k.

I'd like one but I'm gonna need to wait until I can get my other corals fed and happy again. :(

ono second thought i think they are straight pin but i know they sell adapters if that is an option. i will double check later.

No worries, when you get your SPS all colored up and happy, let me know. I can always create a frag for you.

Another Flickr link/pic (after my phone finally decided to send it to Flickr):

The smallest of the frags is in the middle/foreground of the pic. You can also see all of the majoes that are plaguing my system. Don't worry, the frags are free of the pests... and I have a plan for total destruction of the little @)#(*%R@'ers.

I bought a copper banned butterfly (which is still alive and eating frozen Mysid shrimp now) and he not only ate the glass Anemones but I watched him hitting at the Majoes, as well as at least one attempt @ my RBTA.

Keith- One in the bag for you. PM'ing with contact info.

Other replies through PM.
Thanks all.

I have a frag of this Green Slimer and must say it is awesome! It is a fast grower from past experience and very hardy. Overall a great coral for folks new to SPS and wanting to give them a try.
