FS: MRC Dual Nano Calcium Reactor

You never have to dose again!! Dosing kalk and Part A/B can be a PITA!! A calcium reactor is a set it and forget it type of unit. The initial cost up front may look kind of high, but it pays for itself over the long haul both in time and cost for dosing systems.

I bought an MRC Dual Nano Calcium Reactor from a fellow RC'er recently. I haven't picked it up yet, but will be getting it next week (2/12). According to the seller, he used it less than 1 year and the regulator (if you want that too) is new. I am selling it (yup, before I get it) because I am going to be getting a bigger one that will serve my system better.

I don't have pics of the actual reactor because I haven't picked it up. The reactor holds 6 lbs of media and it's foot print is 12" x 12" x 15" tall. I used to have on on my 75g and it worked like a charm. Hook it up to a pH controller and you are set to go!! Like I said in the meeting, a CR will maintain your calcium and alkalinity. I can used 3 calcium reactors in my time and all have been MRC brand. A link to thier site is: HERE

I am asking $190 for the reactor but will consider trades for just about anything reef-related or not, or I can work out payments. Let me know. This also OBO.

Here is a picture of on used on my old 75g reef tank. It is setting in the sump (fit just fine in there) and can be run internally or externally:

Well I was going to post some pics, but Photobucket is down for site maintenance at the moment...

This is not the actual unit for sale. This is the same model that I used to have in the sump of my 75g reef tank a few years ago. Served me and my corals well!!

MRC's website doesn't give a tank volume rating for their Nano Calcium Reactors. I was going to use it on a 150g system. You could use this reactor on any system, but you would probably refill the media more often if you ran it "full speed" to maintain the levels of a larger system. Of note, I have three jugs of ARM media and a 30lb co2 cylinder ready for the job. Do you understand what I mean??

For the price, it's worth it IMO. If it doesn't meet your needs, MRC products hold their value quite well!! Take a look at the for sale boards and see who's products are for sale, who's are moving and who's are not.

I tried to call MRC today, but the are clopsed on Friday's.

As promised, a pic of the actual MRC Dual Nano Calcium Reactor.... The 30lb co2 cylinder is not for sale...
