fs: pokerstar monti, purple monti, blue cloves, and red zo's

Hello everyone,

Need to clear out some space in my tank so I'm selling some frags:

Pokerstar monti - 3/4 inch $20

Pokerstar monti - huge 2 inch frag $50

Purple monti - 1 1/2 inch $20

Red zo's - 30ish polyps (mother colony pictured) $25

Blue cloves with a fat mushroom as a hat, the cloves cover the WHOLE rock front and back - 2.5 inches tall, 2 inches wide $30

Not that it makes a difference but isn't that a rainbow monti? As far as I know they are the same color in the middle but the rainbow grows out with red polyps (looks like superman monti) then as the polyps age they turn green like the pokerstar monti. Eitherway very nice peice (IMO yours is rainbow and is cooler than pokerstar )

BTW what is that purple monti? looks like idaho grape cap.... but also looks like it has red polyps? does it have red polyps?

90sShooter, actually it does make a difference. I have both the pokerstar and rainbow monti and from what I see the rainbow has more of a bluish base while the pokerstar has more of a brownish base that could turn blue with more lighting. Also the polyps on the pokerstar are a little more orange than the rainbow when growing out. I just picked up a piece of the rainbow and the polyps are almost completely red like the superman. However I know what you mean in that they are very similar to each other in appearance.

Speaking of rainbows do you have a frag of that acan in your avatar? =D

90sShooter - forgot to answer your question about the purple monti. It's actually not the idaho grape ( i have that one as well), but it has a really amazing purple color. The colony that I have is awsome.

i remember eric (frag farmer) saying there have been a ton of pokerstar imposters circulating this area

according to him the true pokerstar is blue with green polyps only.....no other polyp colors.

I concur. Mine's either orange or green. Orange on the new growth areas and green everywhere else.

No I concur! lol you said yours has orange polyps on new growth... he is saying that no matter what the polyp are green... even on new growth. That's how my pokerstar grows as well...

Anyway, they are all good looking coral, who cares what the NAME is...

If the real pokerstar has green growth all around then mine must not be it. This is my first piece so I'm not sure. It was sold to me as a pokerstar so who knows. No biggie still a nice piece!

Hey pasadenareefer no worries bro if it's not the real pokerstar then my bad i should've done some research on it. I just saw a lot of other ppl selling the same coral and branding it as pokerstar. Now I'm going to have to look for the real deal!
