I just trimmed it last month and only had a softball size amount in there ....but I won't complain I haven't had any bad algae in the main display as for my older tanks not running a fuge it was always an issue....I'm gonna start looking for a 75 for my next sump to give me more room I currently am using a 40 breeder

Chad great idea. Will clean mine up this weekend and post picture. snake1 3 weeks ago I removed and gave away 3 basket ball sized clumps. I went 2 months with out harvest. Now I am ready to harvest again. I too only keep a softball sized and I have a 65 gallon sump.

Yeah cheato is awesome...I'm probably going to add a 40 gallon cheato fuge and a 20 gallon frag tank in the next month or so to bring the water volume up and get the frag rack out of the display ....so that will free up the current sump for the future additions....
