Hey there Tlytell..Not sure about there being a club down your way or not. But if there is a store that people visit to buy livestock and accesories you could be the new president of the Ft, Myers Naples club. Our local club is very informal, we get together once a month at a persons house to view there setup and learn from each other. Even though there are probably close to 50 people on the email list, we usually only have at the most 5 or 6 of those email people show up at each meeting. We do trade or gift frags to each other which makes it nice that others have stocks from your tank incae you ever need a specimen to start with again.
Guess what I am saying is take it upon yourself to try and start a club, hang a flyer at your LFS and invite others over to see your setup. Tell them you will provide snacks and drinks and heck some one will usually show up for if nothing else food itself..
There are a couple folks that make the drive up from close to your area but not very often so maybe they can get with you to help out. I thank AGU for starting our local club when moved into this area. The knowledge gained from local hobbyist goes a long ways.
Oh well just hought I say hey and hopefully tlk you into starting your own club down there. If you need any help let us know..
