fug lighting

im using my old 75 gallon as my refugium ive got the clip on light what light buld should i get and can i get it lowes or home depot

I found that a 6500K Daylight CF bulb that looks like a flood lamp works best for me. I could only find it at HD. I also ditched the aluminum hat as it's not needed with the flood bulb.

I had 10 000K light for my Fuge but had algae growing. Switched to an Actinic.

My logic is that with teh actinic the High order Algae in my fuge will grow but not the undesirable low order stuff.

Is this advisable or rather stupid?

Good Point about the hat. I have the reflector on both of my fuges but what's the point with the flood light? Ha. thanks.

I got a 6500 at lowes compact flouresent 5 pack for less than ten bucks. With that light i grow crazy amounts of good stuff. You are going to need a couple of lights for a 75. Good luck
