Fuge Light with Magnet

Want to add a light to my fuge.
The one I want is held on the back by a magnet on the inside of the fuge in the water.
My Hydors are also held in place magnetically.

I understood that "metals" in SW tanks is a "bad thing".

Can anyone comment, are magnets in contact with the water bad for inhabitants of salt water aquariums?

Should I have any concerns?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

You want to put a light "in the water"?? Logically doesn't make sense to me.

Most magnets have some plastic covering to cover the magnets. Saltwater is highly corrusive, so contact of metals with saltwater will ultimately rust and get into the water column.

Personally, I use this plant LED light (which has fallen into the water many times and keeps on kicking). Its waterproof (IP64), but not submersible. It emits very low heat, so you could probably DIY something. It is lightweight and offers a variety of options for mounting. For $20 bucks, its a good value.

I use the Mars Hydro 300W ($68 on Amazon). Half the channel actually quit working, so I'm running only half the bulbs. However, I can turn a softball-sized clump of Cheato into almost a 5 gallon bucket full in a month. My Nitrates and Phosphates are below detection by ATI ICP testing. It's so strong I have the fuge separate from the sump since before it would just grow into a swamp.
Remember the goal here is to outcompete your $1,000 display lights to preferentially grow the algae in the fuge. I just don't believe you're as good with a clamp light and a single grow bulb.
