Fuge photo period question

I just finished with my DYI 15gal fuge, and have been researching lighting for it. I'm sure I have read here in RC somewhere about this, but your comments would be appreciated anyway. I'm planning on using cheato-(if I can find it here), but am not sure if I should light it 24/7, or reverse schedule? Also, are there any ill effects to mineral levels, or water chemistry if I do light it 24/7? thanks again for any input.

I asked this same question about 2 weeks ago when I put my fuge together. I got a 3 main answers: Run them the same as your day lights, run them reverse, and run 24/7. It seems to me, to each is own. I would like to run mine 24/7 but am worried about overheating the fixture. I currently run my light the same as my day lights mainly because I have nothing to block the excess light from entering my main tank (HOB fuge).

Thanks for the reply jcarnahan12. My fuge is on the bottom shelf of an open stand in the livingroom, so night time lighting is somewhat of an issue also. Mostly I'm concerend about any ill effects with mineral depleation, but then again I may just be over thinking this. This is my first SW tank, and I don't want to be that guy who just jumped in half cocked.

The main reason for reverse lighting schedule(lights on when your tank lights go off) is to keep your parameters steady through the night.

Sounds logical enough to me Allen. I know this was probably a dumb question anyway, but if I do it right the first time, then there will be one less thing to wonder what I did wrong. Thanks

Those were just off the top of my head. My girlfriend just informed me about the other three tanks that are running, and the other five waitting for the pesky furnature to go away.
