Fungia dying

Hello,

I recently purchased a fungia coral for my nano reef which has been running for 11 months now. It has been about three days and it has gone from healthy lookin to half of the skeleton showing. Is this brown jelly disease? Here are pics:

I see a starfish in the pic......starfish can walk all over corals.....they can pull apart clams....assuming your water is perfect but you do not state.

Parameters were fine when I checked at my lfs two days ago but I'm going to check again today and do a water change. Are fungia very sensitive to being walked on? The starfish walks over my zoas and they haven't been affected negatively so far and I've had it in the tank for 6 months now.

What type of lightning are you using? It need moderate lighting & water flow 1st pic looks like it’s bleaching out

I'm using the stock lights on my fluval evo 13.5

corals with soft polyps extention may retract when walked on
The star looks small, it was just a thought, I have shrimp which walks on some of my corals and they retract which makes sense.....
If your getting your water tested at LFS be careful, some, but not all, do not do very good testing....To be honest.....the only person who reports on my water is me....

Definitely a good though, but after reading about how fungia have sensitive tissue I'm thinking maybe the way the lfs packed it may have harmed it. It was upside down in a small bag when I got it. I did a water change and I'll see how it's doing tomorrow

Update: it's only getting worse, still a little tissue left but not looking good

We need your water parameter numbers. I dont think it it would get hurt by packing. Short tentacle plate corals are not that sensitive, long tentacle plate corals are. In nature they do not attach to solid substrate and tumble a lot with currents.

Since it is bleaching, I am thinking water quality issue. Light can also be a problem but bleaching it that fast would require very intense lighting which you dont have.

Any kind of injury would not cause bleaching.
