Fungia plate coral?

Hi!

I have had a fungia short tentacle plate coral for about 2 weeks now and have noticed it is getting a pattern of white stripes all around it. Is this something I should be worried about? I have it in the front of my tank on the sand under 4x110VHO and 4x65 PC light. Is it possible it is bleaching? Should I move it under some more shade? Here is a picture of my tank and as you can see the fungia is in the dead center.

Thanks!

I hate to say but your plate is most likely dying. the white is the skeleton starting to show through. Your crabs will be eating the flesh soon.

Crap. Do you think it was because of to much light or flow? I have a ton of flow in my tank and also a ton of light. I had no other place to put it. My crabs haven't touched it at all so far and the tentacles are out and when feeding time comes the mouth opens.

agree with unsane.....see about trading/selling/giving it away...before it dies....maybe someone can save it........
actually....city of angels...? I'm in the valley....how much you want for it?..I have experience with Helios.....and a low flow tank....you want I try to save it?

Sure. I live in Claremont and work in Pasadena. I am just trying to figure out what I did wrong. If it is the light or too much flow.

Helios are like Xenia's....either they grow like no ones business...or they die....it feeds ok thou you said..?
how much for it...or do you wnat I just try to babysit it...either way let me know...no probs.....just trying to save the reef

Got PM.....not interested in buying...(a little tight on the cash flow right now)....thanks anyway...I would move it out of a lot of water flow thou.....and see how it does....
