fungia plate questions

At what frequency a plate coral(short tentacle)should be feed? And what do you give to them to keep it healthy? And if I have put it on a flat rock (because I own a Banded Goby a bit too active and I don't want my plate to be buried) surrounded by little rock than prevent it to fall, is it OK? I have my fungia plate since last week and it don't move from is location, does that mean that it likes the spot where I put it? (xcuse my bad english, but I usually speak french!) Thanks!

Your english is fine-much better than my French :D

They like meaty foods like squid & krill, once a week will be plenty

It might start migrating after a while so be careful that it doesn't move into other corals when it does =)

Ok, thanks for the quick answer JenDub!

Is chopped lancefish is a good food source for a fungia plate? And for the coral health, is it better to put it on the sand bed or it doesn't change anything?(except the fact than it could migrating...) I has start to think that I should move my banded goby in one of my FOWLR tanks...

Yes. It does better on the sand: it will injure itself otherwise.

A plate will eat almost anything, and it can clean itself of sand: don't worry.

It eats pellet food, sliced shrimp, bits of fish, just like an anemone. Fish occasionally will rob it, but not too often. They are quite hardy once established, and will stay expanded.

Et votre anglais va tres bien.

Ok, I will move my fungia plate on the sand bed tomorrow and I will watch for my hyperactive goby. If it's become a problem, I will move it to my 32gal. Thanks for answer! Regards.

P.S. Your french is good too!;)

I've now move it on the sand bed since 04 july and he is doing fine! It is inflated much more and really look good and healthy. And no problem with my banded goby! Thanks all for the advices!
