Hard to tell in the second pic due to different lighting. But tentacles not extended and looks paler (whiter) than yesterday. Low to med flow. Maxspect lighting short photo period. In tank two days. On the sand. Drip acclimated for 1 hr. Thanks in advance. Help I want to save the little guy!!

I am not seeing anything really wrong, but I'm viewing on a phone. The short tentacles just look retracted. I have several plates and they all do this from time to time. Sometimes at night, or after feeding, after tank maintemece or for no reason at all. They always put them back out again. Mine often look like this at night, although they will eat at night.

At 2 days it's just getting acclimated IME. It sounds like it's in the right position. Params look fine but you should have no measurable nitrites. Is this a mature post cycle tank? If you're not processing ammonia correctly this could be a problem. Is your test accurate?

If you have tissue recession that is showing significant skeleton, a gaping mouth, a refusal to eat after multiple attempts (give it time) you do have a problem. But I think thus far you're OK. The loss of color vibrancy is normal when tentacles are retracted. Be patient - chances are it will be open & ready to eat shortly. Have you fed it yet?

I would get that PO4 down provided you think your test was accurate BTW. More for algae reasons than immediate issues with your Fungia, but any algae growth on the rim is a no no. GL.

Thanks reef frog. I feel a bit better. I brought it home Saturday and it looked pretty happy on Sunday. Today Upon arriving from work it just looks sick compared to prior day.

Tank is 7 weeks old but has cycled. I turned on the gfo reactor last weekend after measuring a .56 p04 via Hanna checker.

I'm going to test nitrates again now. Thanks again.

My guess is it's light acclimation. You probably have stronger lighting than it was used to, and it's showing its displeasure. Agree that your PO4 is too high, but I don't think that's the issue. If it doesn't show improvement in a couple weeks, then I'd be concerned. But for now, it doesn't look bad.

That was my first thought as well, on the lights that is. Just tested p04 it's zero, so the gfo is doing its job. Nitrite is still .3. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Every times walk by the dang dt there is a peppermint shrimp on the coral.

Edit to say, yes this peppermint shrimp is a problem. I put a small plastic bowl over the coral until I can move this shrimpy to the fuge.

So the peppermint is proving to be rather elusive. ##€[%{*}+!!! Muched hard to on separate corals! Sump you go, dang you!!
