Funky 2 Part Problem

I have the Bionic 2 part system.
Iv been useing it for some time now...
I just find it ODD that my calcium stays at 490 ALL THE TIME.

I dose about 13ml of ALK each night to make it stay at 8dkh.
But I DO NOT add ANY calcium at all.

My mag stays at 1350ish, I put in a few drops of Kent in there daily.


Just worried something funky is going on with my tank.

Tank around 115ish gallons.
I use reef crystal salt with 0 tds water
25g Water changes weekly
I run 400ml of Bio pellets
I have a small hand full of cheato that dosent grow at all since the bio pellets.
About 35lbs of rock in the DT and 70lbs in the sump.
Lights are tek t5ho 6 bulb

I also noticed new sps frags start to go brown after a few weeks. I think its my P04. I'll try to controll that with some GFO.

The area my biopellets are in the sump is FULLLLLLLLL of CAYNO.

I doubt your 2 part is the problem but without a P04 number hard to know. I would cut the pellets by 50% to start.

How long has the tank been set up? In my tank, I have to add more alk than Ca. Maybe with a young tank and low demand, the water changes are enough to maintain calcium. Just monitor parameters and most likely when corraline gets going and the frags mature more, the demand will go up. To be on the safe side, double check parameters with a different test kit. What is you po4 at?

What does your Alk read when you test? And with kind of kits?

There are many processes that will deplete alk in the aquarium. Only calcification will use up ca. Once your sps start growing you will need to dose ca. When my tank was much younger ans had only small frags I never needed to dose ca but needed alk supp daily.
