2 Jebao rw-8s
crystal 36 sump

reedbreeder fuge lite led

So what are your guys thoughts in this?

Furture Setup Opinions

If it were my build I don't think you need that many watts of a heater but I live in a warm climate.

And the mag drive will heat the water which matters to me because I am in a hot climate. I am really happy with my jebao as a return pump. No heat and silent.

Get undrilled tank and drill it yourself. That way you can have fun doing it. Well getting a better looking overflow box out of the deal, that also works better!

Some people have complained bout the screws rusting as well. Something to consider as well. Home Depot or similar sell nylon type screws if you go this route.

Ok guys thank you for your opinions. I don't want to drill it I don't want to mess up and cracked the tank somehow.

Rick I am looking to do almost the exact same. Where are you getting your tank? How many holes will you have? Any reason you're going with the crystal as opposed to the ruby sump?

As for heaters I am a huge fan of the Cobalt Neotherm heaters.

Are you putting any plumbing for future considerations such as UV etc. Might make a difference on to yiur return pump size. Just a thought.

After looking at the BRS site you could get the 150 gallon per day for the same price. I just installed the upgrade kit and output has doubled and waste water cut in half. Win win

Not sure if I know what I'm talking about here, but I think for the BRS upgrade kit you need a higher water pressure than the other one -- I know we can't upgrade and I think that's the reason. Just something to look into -- your pressure might be just fine!

I am getting my tank from a LFS about 2 hours away from me unfortunately(best price i could find around). There will be 4 holes in the tank 2 for the overflow and 2 for return. As for the Sump, No there is no reason I am sort of stuck between the two. Im just wondering if keeping that little bit of light from getting into my other chambers is worth the price difference. As for my heater I just went to BRS and picked one after reading the comments on a few of them this one seemed like my best option. Yes hopefully I will be putting plumbing for future upgrades looking to put three extra places in my plumbing for reactors and such.

The 150 upgrade requires 65. My pressure was really low (under 20 psi) so I had to get a booster pump and since I did I figured why not get the upgrade too. You're right it might not be if your under the 65.

Anyway good luck to you keep us posted on your build or if there is anything helpful you learned along the way.

Your thoughts on the crystal vs ruby are something I am currently battling with myself.
