Fusion in zoas? (pic)

Good day!

Just want to ask if anyone has had any experience with zoas fusing together? 2 different species (bambam and king midas) forming to make up 1 polyp split 50-50.

Here's one of my zoa gardens in the tank.. The king midas used to sit beside the bambams.

Here's a cropped version of the picture.

How does this happen? Will it multiply?
Thanks in advance!

I was thinking the same thing. I have a rock as well with ban bams that met some(I think there called?dragon eyes? And the middle has now morphed to species mixed both ways. Some are orange centered with bright green lashs and others are the opposite with both solid mother colonies on each side. Ill try n post a pic when the lights come on :)

You should give it a name and sell it as a LE coral for $1000. In all seriousness it's very cool. I have seen something similar posted on ************ a year ago with some different Zoanthids.

Wow, I wasn't aware Jake Adams was disliked by RC. LOL

Yeah I've seen threads where people talk about fusing two like this before. I think its pretty cool. But I've always wondered what would happen if you fragged that one hybrid polyp and let it reproduce. Would it make only hybrids? Would the offspring keep the 50/50 look? I dunno.

that's funny. Ill have to name mine "orange dragon zoas" ...name sound farmiliar. Heheheh. Im trying to post a pic with no luck. Its crazy because starting at the bam bam colony the morphs are orange centered w/green lashs followed in the middle by crazy mixed up morphs and as you get closer to the dragon eyes colony they become green centered with orange lashs.

Thanks for the reply guys!

It is strange and I am curious about it. I also just realized I posted in the wrong forum, so I might be posting this in another subforum..

Thanks for all your help and input! greatly appreciated!
