future sump room

I have been kicking around the idea of putting a sump in my basement for a while. I really only need a stack washer and dryer to stuff in my utility room and I can easily convert the laundry into the sump. ro/di, sink, drains, already there.

So here is what I have so far for the room. Currently 40g sump, one chamber with rubble, middle chamber 9.3" with skimmer, 3rd chamber return,uv sterilizer, phosban 150, ACjr, dc8 . Additionally for the sump room I have a 55g with j-tube overflows, some various pumps, apprx 85lbs lr, 10g, 2x40pc fixture.

There is a local place here that carries the 100gl rubbermaid for $75. I would consider buying two of these. One to make/store water and one for the actual sump with liverock. Then possibly use the 55 or 40 for a fuge? I imagine the 80w pc would be more than enough for the fuge. Maybe chamber off the 100gl sump and get a mh pendant for frags? Use the current sump/skimmer setup additional to the 100gl frag (150gpossible if room) or just ditch the 40 and put the skimmer in the sump somewhere? I will need a good external pump, probably 14-16 ft vertical.

Thoughts and tips please.

If you are looking for a tank for a sump, these are great. I have one available thats sitting on top. It has three separate chambers. I was going to use one for Deep sand bed, one for a criptic fuge and the other for cheato, but I needed the space so I had to take the top off and put a counter top on top instead. IT comes with a 8" stand to set it on. I use one with one section removed so its 2/3 qt and 1/3 sump for qt. Wanting $100 for it, the stand and a set of NO T8 lights that are built for it.

Hey Zach,
One problem with the 100 gallon Rubbermaid’s is they are really big! I had picked up a used one a while back and ended up getting rid of it due to the size. Tractor Supply has some 50 gallon tubs that may be better. Not Rubbermaid, but are meant for feeding troughs, so reef safe.
Joe's stacked tanks looks like a nice option also
