FW Fish Diagnosis

I know this is a freshwater question, but I haven't found any good FW forums, so I'm going to ask here.

Here's the tank setup:

75 gal FW with penguin 350, UV sterilizer, and live plants. 2 turquise severons, 2 yellow cichlids, 2 adult kribensis, 3 zebra danios, 10 1.25 in kribensis, a pleco, a spotted cory and about 12 snails.

I'm trying to figure out what one of my severons has. Symptoms:

frequent shivering
small white spots: Already treated for ich and the spots have sinse disappeared.
loss of some scales
NO bloating
eats like a king

The only time it contracts the fins is when it's shivering

All the other fish appear helthy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there

How long did you treat for ick? Does the shivering go more like a shiver and then fine and then another shiver? Ick can invade the gills and it seems when my fish have it to that point it is almost seizure like.Is it gasping for air or breathing faster?

I treated for three days. Used the Wardley's Ich med. turned the water a slight shade of blue for bout an hour. Do you think the UV light is neutralizing the meds like carbon does?

I really can't see that it's breathing any faster than the other fish and it's not gasping for air. All the fish appear stressed, but I have a 2 yr old that likes to smack the tank. I constantly get on her for that too. All the fish settle down after she goes to bed. They know.

The only other thing that I didn't mention before is that it seems to have trouble staying horizontal unless it's swimming. If it's stationary its tail drops and it points up at like the 1100 position.

As for the shivering it's definately shiver, fine, shiver. And it only shivers for like half a sec then it's fine for a min or so and then shiver again.

This is the first time I've had Severons so I don't know how they react to Ich.

Hi Tony

I would definetly say that the ick is still there. You need to retreat and take out the uv as it will do exactly what you said it will neutrilize it. And i would definetly treat for more than 3 days.7 is about right i would say. But the swimming weird thing sounds lto me to do with there bladder, I am having a hard time recalling what it is called but call a fish store and explain that to them and they should know what i am trying to say...lol
