FW Question

My brother and his family just got back from Florida and my nephew brought back some shells he found. He has a 10 gal. FW tank with a few tetras and a betta and he was wantin' to put the shells in the tank. Will the shells mess up the water or would it be fine? Just askin' before I say "yea, throw them in there".

boil them, and rinse them very well. Dont want anything that use to be alive messing up the water.

clean them up and toss them in. they will be just fine
