G-Tube for a Flame Scallop?

I was replacing the front end on my autockocker paintball gun today, and while replacing some of the front end hosing I happened to look up to see my flame scallop twitch. I'm often worried about my flame scallop and not getting proper nutrition even though I have a special syringe I squirt phyto towards it every day.

Anyway, I had this piece of flexible vynl hosing in my hand thats very thin, like drawing blood hosing thin. Now I'm not sure if its a good thing, bad thing, or indifferent thing, but my scallop has a tiny gap where it's shells meet (I guess where the foot comes out?)and I think the tubing would be just small enough and flexible enough for minimal impedement of the shell closing.

So the question becomes, could I effectively attach this little clear hose to its shell, trail say 3' of it to the outside of my tank, and use syringe to feed it everyday guaranteeing a higher rate of consumption?

flame scallops are best left in the ocean, no matter what we do or how established our system is they very rarely live more than a few months. these creatures filter water all day and target feeding them is to much to fast and not enough to last for the entire day.
