GAH! Star Polyp decay

One of my first coral, which I've fragged hundreds of times, and has polyps as long as a inch, is decaying! I am so angry. I've tried everything, moving it up and down, dips, everything. It just decided to close up about a month ago, and now it's starting to show decay. Some of the places where the polyps where are now small cavities. All my water looks good, PH-8.2 Nitrate-10, Saltinity-1.025, KH-11. Please help, I'll do anything to save this coral.

Aww that sucks.. I was gonna say dip it.. but I see you've tried that...

Maybe someone else has had this experience before? All the GSP's I ever had were bullet-proof nonstop growers...

Good Luck, man...

I have no advice on how to save your colony, but if there are any unaffected areas I would frag them immediately.

Good luck and let us know how you fare!

I tried fragging, those were the first to fall. Should I just leave the mat in there? Dispose of it? Let it decay in there? Nearly all the polyps are gone.

Here they were before.

Alright, all polyps died. Should I throw away the colony? Or can the colony just survive with the mat till the polyps grow back? The mats feeling brittle though. Not sure what to do. Please advice.

I hate to say toss it out, but really it's not hard to get some more of it & it sounds like it's pretty much toasted... If you were closer to me I'd give you more of that coral than you can handle.

Oh,
And it's not the only polyp coral that's suffering.
My Pipe Organ stopped opening.
And my Sympodium is down to three heads, and those are near dead as well.

Hate to say it... but I'd toss that thing.. don't let it decay in there..

Seems like something has definitely gone awry in your tank...

Post a fresh set of parameters, and describe your lighting, flow, and any recent changes of any kind...

I'm confident that the folks here can help you out...

Well, I'll get the tank parameters later,
LFS does very accurate tests for free.
My Actinic bulb went out maybe 3 weeks ago.
I need to replace those.
The star polyps were decaying long before my Actinics went out though.
I checked the stars every day and night to make sure there were no snail, hermits, worms, spiders etc. that were eating/disturbing it.

But, for the good news, I just moved the Sympodium higher and it's opening.
I also moved the Pipe higher, but no change yet for the Pipe.
I'll give it a day before I try something again.

Have you put any new frags in that might have brought something along? I had a type of nudibranch come in with some LR that went after my GSP and only my GSP. Once it wiped them out they died off. Left everything else alone.

No new frag, If it was some type of pest etc, I think it would eat the whole coral. I threw away the main GSP frag just now, maybe the other coral I listed were not doing well because of the decay.
