galaxia coral

They can be very aggressive, the small 2-3" piece that we have has at least 4 inch tentacles, and I know someone else who bought part of the same colony as us, and he says that the tentacles he has seen are up to 8-10" long on his piece.

Within a few days of getting mine, a Kenya and an Alveopora that had been fine next to each other for weeks both died overnight. I could have been the GSP that had slid down between them, or maybe the galaxia that was about 5" away from them.

:( i was hoping i could get one because they look so beautiful and cool. Especially under moonlights. I guess my BC29 will probably be too small. I don't want it to sting my acans, rics, or anything else :(

I love mine, I actually have 2...I moved the mother colony leaving a baby in it's place. Just give them some room...

i have a decent sive galaxia in my bc29. as long as it is plased down current it will be fine. mine is by the overflow, so if it desides to be hostile it can only go one way.

Typically the more current you have on them, the less they extend sweeper tentacles. I have 2 in the bottom of my frag tank, not a problem but have 4-5 in. safes zone around them. Really cool corals.

I have one that's a little bigger than a soft ball. The sweepers on it are around 8 inches long. They can pack a powerful sting.

It has stung my finger leather once, but it rebounded nicely.

You can also pinch off any extra long sweepers without doing any harm to the coral. I've been doing this since I got it.
