Galaxy frag - sweeper question

I picked up this single frag of a galaxea today. I know they are known for their long and strong sweepers, but will this tiny little piece have the same range (I've seen as long as 10" online) as a larger size colony?

It currently sits 4 or 5 inches from the closest neighbors, should I move it somewhere else?

Sweeper size is proportional to the size of the polyp, not of the frag. Give it about 12 inches. Note my post "pearl bubble reaches out to touch someone". That one is sneaky.

Sweepers don't move upwind, however. If you're short of space, just let the flow direct them into a 'safe' region.

Those guys have some serious sweepers. I have a large colony abd I have seen its sweepers extend 8 inches.

I started a colony of galaxia from a single head, and it has grown prolifically without any sweeper tenticles. As I understand, sweeper tenticles are strictly deffensive and will not develop unless it's real estate is compromised. Porky has told me that you can actually "trim" sweepers with little to no stress to the colony. He does so on his bubble coral.

I've got a big 6" - 8", a 3" and a two 1" Frags of Galaxea. I only ever saw sweepers once. It was when I was cleaning the glass next to the big one and moving really fast. My friend took a frag and out came the sweepers. His tank has alot more flow than mine. I think it has to do with flow. If the flow is right, they don't come out. I've even looked at night and nothing. JME
