Gapping

Its on the bottom of a 120(24"dp) with 2-175W 10K MH 2-110W Actinic White,2-110W Super Actinics and 2 NO actinics. I could move him up but most advise said they had there clams at the bottom of the tank with less light so I figured it would be ok. Should I move it? There is alot more circulation on top though with 2 sea swirls and 2 more outlets from a SCWD.

you should move the clam up some. 175W lights can't penetrate 24" ( effectively ) and that clam likes a lot of light. ICURN is right you should have the clam's mantel facing towards the light. try placing a small flat rock underneath him and see if he attaches. then you can move him around the tank a lot easier.

he's not gaping.

its not gaping and its mantle should be facing the light. im sure it would like it closer to the light also

off topic- dont plan on any other fish with that sohal tang, and plan on either a larger tank or finding it a new home someday, some people have had them doubkle in size in about a year (or so they claim).

He's 6 YO in my tank and a glutten Also I have Purple tang,Kole tang ,Foxface, and 4 Anthias. But he's the king. My New set will be a 210G it's in the works now in my basement. Check it out

Funny I never thought about that:p . That's just some old tank. Haven't got the 210 yet. I'm trying to finish the basement first to keep the dust out.
