gaps between tank and stand

Hello to all,

I recently remember someone posting a thread about his new tank and small gaps between the bottom of the tank and stand.

I believe he said that as he filled his tank the gaps dissappeared.

I'm in the same boat now with my 140G and searched for that thread but could not find it. Anyway I'll ask the Q again then....

Has anyone else experienced this and did it dissappear as the tank was filed. Provided the gap is small does it normally dissappear or is this something to be concerned about?

The gap I have is at the front of the tank and is less that 1/8 of an inch, in two spots( either side of centre...eg. the corners and centre of the tank touch the stand and between there is a small length about 2" that does not).

Thanks

Level the stand. Its the only solution.

Get a yard stick find were its not level and sand. If its too low you can use some high strength filler. Then sand it to be right.

If it is a really small gap you can use foam. But I would recommend filler and sanding as your method. Trust me you will sleep better over the next few months.

Styrophoam works for leveling the stand and tank, but it can end up being a problem. Lots of times the styrophoam will end up "gluing" the stand to the tank and make it difficult to seperate them when the tank needs to be taken down.
