garlic added...now skimmer going nuts

hmmm...added garlic by soaking algea before I put it in the clip for tang, and now skimmer is overflowing. Anyone else experience this?

My guess would be the oil in the garlic...this is just a guess but I know that oil from the manufacturing process, and from your hands can make a skimmer misbehave.
