Gas exchange and oxygenation

How does gas exchange, more specifically, oxygenation occur in the Nano Cubes or Aquapods? With no water running through standpipes, and down to the sump constantly turbulent, I'm curious how this happens.

I don't know about the aquapods, but on the cubes you can get a surface skimmer attachment on them to help in this process. I am pretty sure aquapods have sometype of attachment as well, I just don't know about it

i have 3g & 5g eclipse, the bio-wheel does the exchange. they only do 10x volume turn-over. i added to the 3g a Tunze #106. the 5g has 3. large export ID 70.2gph not a toilet effect, just good current. also DSB for nitrate 1.2 lbs. per gal LR. all doing graet. good luck. oh, the Tunze are only $12.99 ea.

Oxygenation doesn't need much turbulence to occur in saltwater... often times as rodgod20 and nano4brains mention simple surface skimming or a tiny powerhead is enough churn in the water for a nano. The nicer nano's come equipped with a wet/dry in the back, where some gas exchange can happen.

... One way or another I've never heard of someone having a problem with the lack of oxygen in their nano. I wouldn't trouble yourself with such worries :D
