Gauging interest on canopy w/ mh's

Okay, getting my 125 set up and am going to go with different lights for it instead of cannablizing the canopy I have over my 55. It is a black pine aga canopy with dual 250w mhs with reflectors and 110 watt pcs. There are two four inch fans on the outside of the ends on the canopy. This is a straight up diy jobbie, but it has worked VERY well for me. The ballasts are in one unit and are magnetic. The bulbs are 14k and look great. (Ask Mattg) I paid $350 for the MH set up, $120 canopy, $50 for the fans and $90 for the ballast, reflector and bulbs on the pc. This is a SE MH setup. I paid $610... I would be willing to sell the whole setup for $400 obo. I thought I would offer it here before I put it on the selling forum. One catch, I can't get rid of this until I get the new setup. Once I get a confirmation I will order my new setup and it should be available a week afterwards...

WOW! , a perfect system for a 48" SPS system! To bad I don't have a system that small anymore :)
What light(s) are you going with on your 125?

I am going to retro three 250w DE's... not sure if I should go with vho's, pcs, or T-5s for the actinics... suggestions anyone? Also, can you see how much a black wood canopy for the 125 would be and PM me on that? Thanks!

I would skip the pc, not good actinic color IMO. Either the vho or t5 would work fine, I have both in use and like the color of both. current makes a really nice t5 actinic thats linkable. I use all t5's to light my fish display tanks at the store, fresh and salt and am really happy w/ the results.

those Current brand T-5 's in the 460nm are great I have a 24 watt on my 90 and it is way to much light for night lights so it goes off about 1 am. but would be great to supplement your mh.

To bad you weren't selling that canopy last year I spent about 800 maybe more building mine.
