Gauging Interest - RO/DI Unit Group Buy

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating in a group by on RO/DI units. I have three vendors in mind, though I will have to wait on some of the particulars until I have a better idea of how many units we would need. The proposed vendors are:

purelyh2o.com
air water ice.com
spectrapure.com

purelyh20 would offer a unit discount of $20 off each unit.
*There is a 5 unit minimum order.

air water ice would offer Free Shipping and 15% off for orders totaling between $900 - $1,999.00 or Free Shipping and 20% off for orders totalling $2,000.00 & up
*The minimum order is $900.00

I'm still waiting on spectrapure, and will post an update once I hear back from them.

Also worthy of note: These offers are not restricted to any one particular model, so we would be able to mix and match our order to meet anyone's specific needs. We will , however, need to decide which vendor we would prefer working with, if at all.

Anyway, at this point I just thought I'd throw the idea out there. If you're interested please let me know.

Thanks!

Have you tried The Filter Guys.I recieved my RO/DI unit from them last week and It works awesome, produces about 80 gal a day, which is plenty with my 750 gal's of saltwater tanks. The system was very easy to install and at a very reasonable price for the unit I bought, the Ocean Reef +2.

I do not know about water and ice but the Filter Guys prices are more than 20 percent cheaper without a discount or group buy then the other two with comparable units. They are very nice guys that have great customer service and even looked up my water report while I was on the phone to give me the best unit for my needs!!!!!

I'm still getting 0 TDS after my RO before the DI with my filterguys OCEAN REEF + 1 RO/DI after using it for a year and only changed out prefilters every 6 months.

Jim is very great to deal with. He also looked up my area water report in the middle of the night after I sent him and email not knowing he would do it right away to see if my area uses chloramines or not.

This is the Group Pricing available from Spectrapure:

*They have a $500 minimum order requirement.

It's looking like AWI would be our best bet IF we can meet the minimum purchase requirement. I'd be looking at the TYPHOON III RO/DI unit for myself. so if we can get another 6 of 7people interested as well we just might be able to make it worth while.
