Bleh here in Ny, but I want in lol. I would love to add those to my Tek5 8 bulb setup

David
We are lucky having so many local quality retail fronts in the area :p But keep an eye on the Equipment/Lighting, and SPS forum, I have seen some threads where they are hinting a possible GB on the URIs. I think there were people from different states, so I think they are having them shipped?

Unfortunately we are looking to do this locally, I agreed with the retail source that we would not to deal with s/h, sorry.

I have 8 bulbs over a 55g

Wow that is a lot of light :bum: I had 4x54W on my 60g, but they were not SPS. Do you have any LPS/softies on your tank?

For those of you looking to do ALL your lighting with T5 bulbs....

What assortment/combination are you considering?

I was thinking 1/2 Aqua Blue and 1/2 blue plus.

Now I'm thinking 1/2 12000K Actinic White (50/50) and 1/2 Super Actinic.

Your thoughts?
Jeff

Hmm.. Since we're talking about t5s, I have a question for you all. I just bought a used tek retrofit setup. The bulbs are 24". I have a 22 gallon tank. Would this be enough light for SPS and clams? I was thinking about just reselling it and paying more to get an icecap retro but didn't know if it'd be worth the price diff.

Also, it came with 2 light blue bulbs. What are the differences between them and the new bulbs you all are talking about? If there's a significant diff, then I may be interested in 2 of the URIs as well.

IMO for tanks smaller than 40g (18-20 inch tall), a set of 4 T5s with the standard ballast should be ok. I wonder if the setup with an icecap overdriving the bulbs would give you too intense lighting for a shallow tank, to the point that would bleach out corals, except for SPS?

These new bulbs are supposed to give similar light spectrum of the URI VHO super actinic, in the 420nm range. I am not familiar with this light blue bulb, is there a name/label on it?

After thinking it over, I think I can always add addition 2 shorter bulbs for my 6' tank. Because after all, who can pass on URI super actinic T5s. So put me down for 4 x 39W super actinics, if you will. :)

Got you down for the (4) 39W URI SA bulbs :)

At the moment, I also have 1:1 aquablue:blue+ bulbs, and I like the color they give. It is hard to tell, since these are new bulbs.
I am thinking of using 1:1:1 ratio of aquablue:blue+:URI SA. (6 bulbs, 2 each). But I am also considering 1 GE6500, 1 aquablue, 2 blue+, 2 URI SA.

Some good news:

Seems like we have at least 6 bulbs of each size for the URI Super Actinics, so we'll be able to get some GB pricing for all of them.
The new bulbs are expected to be available by end of next week.

With that in mind, I'd like to confirm the type/quantity/size of bulbs you are looking to get. The spreadsheet is attached, the names in blue are the ones who I have received confirmation on the quantity, and type of bulbs.
Some of you want to get some T5 related equipment. This will be available too, same deal with the bulbs. Let me know what you are looking for, I'll add them up to the list.

Tentatively, I'd like to confirm the orders by mid-week (5/16 or 17). Payments by Friday 5/19, and place the order on 5/19 (or after receiving all payments). What do you think?

IMPORTANT: Please note, I have been asked by the retailer NOT to post pricing information (this includes percentage/cost/etc) on the thread. I will be sending PMs to all of you with the pricing information, but PLEASE do not post this info. Thanks!

hey benny I cant seem to open that file can you email it to me but as a txt. Thanks Mario

cool that will work. Also your pm box is full. So go ahead and put me down for 4 x 3' uri and 2x 2' uri.

What daylight bulbs does everyone like/recommend?
Giesemann 54W 6000K Midday Sun, GE 54W 6500K Daylight, 54W 10000K AquaSun Or 54W 12000K Actinic White

4x4' UV actinic

Is this a light bulb only order? Or are we gonna do a "T5 stuff" order? I could use some SLRs

Steve, I have not used any of them, I can't say from experience... but I have heard that the DD6000k gives a greenish hint, the GE6500 a little more yellow. The new URI Aquasun and 50/50 are anybody's guess I think? On another post I some ppl said something about them being a little "pinkish"???

I am leaning towards the GE6500, also because they are cheaper.
I think I will also have enough actinic to wash off the yellow tint. HTH

Chuck, T5 stuff can be ordered as well :)

And to clarify on the "T5 stuff"....

We have to buy at least 6 of any particular item to enjoy a discount.

So, I need other people to be interested in ballasts, reflectors, and end caps!

hey ben can you also add 4 3' slr's for me and pming what my total will be. I think that will complete my order.
Mario
