GBTA - asymmetry?

I began caring for a GBTA about 2 weeks ago. When the anemone was introduced into my tank, it was very symmetrical in appearance; as shown in this picture:

During the past 3-4 days, I observed that some of the tentacles on one side appeared smaller/deflated relative to the others, as shown here:

Moreover, I noticed that the "base" of the anomone (where the tentacles originate), appears to be somewhat pinched in on the side that has the smaller tentacles (not visible in the image).

Has any seen this happening before? Thanks.

Big Brother...as best as I can tell there are no obvious irritants near the GBTA. Is there something specific that I should be looking for?

apayne...it has not split. Is this a sign of splitting? I have not cared for or watched anemones split, thus I am not certain if this anemone is in the early stages of splitting.

no, if it was splitting youd be able to tell. it would most likely stretch itself over two rocks and slowly pull itselt in 2, starting at the mouth.

uhh, any aptasia?

Big Brother, there are a couple of Aiptasia on a few piecies of rock that I recently introduced. However, there are none near the anemone. The rest of my tank is Aiptasia free...I have four pepperments that are very good about eating them.

If there were any Aiptasia, wouldn't the GBTA anemone sting/irritate the Aiptasia...as I would imagine the nematocysts in the GBTA are much more potent than those of an Aiptasia?

vitaly.. I wouldent worry about it. mine used to do that. i posted the same question a year ago. it just felt like it is the best answer i can give, but i think it is normal. my nem is still alive and happy, and sometimes odd shaped or weirdly inflated. there just big bags of water lol
