Gemmatum Tang Arrived

The LA Diver's Den sometimes has them for around that price, but larger more vibrant specimens.

This photo was taken 1 hour after acclimation and airation it spent a further 2 hours in the container to be acclimated the right way as it was flown in to indonesia on a 4 hour flight. NOW its in the tank its stunning and dazzling.

I will take some more photos for you to see MY specimen and you will not be let down.

I will be starting work on my 1000 by the end of the month. i want it set up and in good shape so that when i move my fish can go straight in with the most ease possible.

I have also deceided not to go crazy on this new tank and keep the stock list small.

I have made enough mistakes jumping straight in to be more wiser than the fool.

Will start a thread on that soon.

I will be receiving help from the local indonesian reefers.

These are the guys that go diving and catch etc.

Beautiful specimen. Your tank must be nice, and you're living in Indonesia. Well what can I say...a Reefers dream !! Hope to see your 180 and the new 1000 g tank.

Nice fish, but if it was me and I had a 180 with a bunch of other tangs I would of waited until my 1000g was setup.

No point in taking the chance on a $1500 fish ($1500 in Canada).

Gem Tang Update

Gem Tang Update

Hi guys. here is an update on my gem tang after 2 months.

Doing very well indeed...eating well and has its territory marked and defended well.

I will say that this fish does not seem to swim around as much as the yellow tang or purple tang would. it likes to hover around its rock and patrol. rarely will it venture out into other areas of the tank.
