i picked up a pcx-55 today and am going to use it for the main return pump in my system. i cannot find a flow chart for this pump anywhere! does anyone have a link to one?

will this pump have enough guts to drive two penductors at about 8' of head?

thanks!

Benny Z,

for specs, flowchart go to customaquatics.com and search for "wp-pcmak-55hp" and click on it (see details) and them click on "click here for more details" that pops up the flowchart of the pcx and three other pumps,

about penductors, I'm running a pump a tad less powerful (800gph pressure rated) and the flow is nice and strong, running two penductors,

oh and on this thread, the owner, joefish, was running two penductors with scwd with pcx-55

Tank progression shots

The 800gh runs mine great, but with another pcx55 ( running my skimmer with one :D) it will drive them even better, becketts like eductors, penductors, need pressure to make a nice vacuum, anyway good luck,

thanks for all the info!!!

i'll also be using a pcx-55 on a dual becket mrc mr-2. picked up two of them for a great price this weekend.

Benny Z,

nice, got mr-2 with 8" extension, and one beckett, some have notice better performance with one beckett rather than two becketts with the pcx-55,

I would try it both ways and decide for yourself,

In my opinion the pcx-55 is only good for one beckett head, two will be too much and performance will decrease too much, you need something a long the lines of a ps200 (panworld) or BL55 (blueline), iwaki 70, ect for two becketts,

anyway good luck,

sam

Interested as well. I am going to use a Pan World 150ps as my return, almost the same as the PCX-55. I am considering penductors. Let us know how they work!

On the skimmer, like nunez1980 mentioned, you are probably going to need a larger pump. Though its not running yet, I have an dual beckett MR-2 with a 20" extension that I will run with a Pan World 200ps.

My old skimmer was a PM Bullet 1, It performed ok with a pan world 100px, but I have a feeling it would have performed slightly better with a little more power. I think you generally need around 700-800 gph per beckett.

A penductor or a beckett ad around 7-10' of head if I recall correctly.

i run two penductors on my pcx 40 and am very happy with the results. im sure the pcx-55 will be even better because it has a higher head pressure rating.
