gen x pumps

anyone have any opinions on gen-x pumps particularyl mak 4 1190gph model. looking to pick up a used one for 50 bucks and wanted opinions first.

they are ok, The only thing I dont like is that they have those cooling fans that can be a little annoying

Jess it depends on where your tank is setup. I have a Gen-X PCX-40 and it's been running flawlessly for a year and still looks new. Mine doesn't really make much noise, but my tank is at the furthest part of my house and can hear the water falling into the overflow more than I can hear the pump itself. Dude if you wanna pass by and see it/hear it running for yourself your more than welcome.

for 50 bux its a good deal. It works great just upgraded pumps when I upgraded my tank. I didnt mind the fan too much even though the tank is setup in my bedroom but I could see how it could bother someone
