The one offshoot of the hobby where the female/male ratio is skewed more towards women is in the seahorse and pipefish crowd.

But otherwise, like you guys said, I think its all the fun toys that gets the attention of so many guys.

Hey everyone..The guys do have the majority of the hobby, but I think that we can change that! I have a girlfriend back home that wants to convert her fresh water that she has had for years into salt water reef...It is truly exciting to see my girlfriends get into it! The shopping trips have been expanded to include the LFS when we visit each other. I believe we like to see the whole little underwater world work (including all the tiny animals that we would never see).

I still have to say... I did start enjoying the hobby only after I meet David,
