general tube worm info?

My tank has been up and running for well over 6 months with no major problems. I have a healthy smattering of lps and sps frags along with a couple of God****ed damsels, don't get me started.
My question concerns tube worms: I purchased a small pink one a little less than a week ago and he still hasn't come out to feed. It appears to still be alive, I placed it in some rock towards the bottom of the pile where it's foot could dig into the sand, it has, I was curious to hear anyone's thoughts on how long these things usually take to acclimate. I have a decent amount of experience with reef tanks but this is my first worm.
Long time hitch-hiker on the threads here, first time poster, all help past and future is greatly appreciated.

Okay, I'm NOT an expert on here, but I thought I'd try to help anyways. I've had a few tube worms, and none of them have taken more than a couple of days to become fully acclimated, so I'd guess that something's bothering it. Check your water conditions, or perhaps move it to a different spot in your tank.

One thing I did notice when I had my tubes...I had a hermit crab that liked to eat them. If you have a hermit crab that likes to just "hang around" too much, you might want to check the tube, or just pull the crab.

Hope it helped a bit!
